On My First Day

My mind has been everywhere lately and I find myself a bit overwhelmed by recent events. I’ve decided it’s not bad to withdraw a little bit, for a little while but it’s impossible to shine a light if you keep it under a basket.

My first day of 2006 has been spent reflecting. The last days of 2005 brought so many challenges that I find I have to examine myself and make sure I’m not being distracted by the winds of change. While many of these recent events were emotionally trying, none have proved to be anything less than a blessing to all involved and I remain very thankful in everything. My conclusion today is the same as always. I am a fool but God is so very good.

"Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, 'He is the one who catches the wise in their craftiness'; and again, 'The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless.'"
I Cor. 3:18-20

Yes, God IS so very good.

Casey,

I just wanted to say that you are loved! Times are trying, but they are the fires of our purification. Great damage has to be done to a block of marble before it produces a masterpiece.

We are trophies of His grace...

Antonio

Joe I would love to think we were even but I know better. Sunday Praise, among other articles, has helped me to keep my eyes looking up more times than I can count. Your love for others and your devotion is a constant source of inspiration toward faithfulness.

Whatever the trying times, know that you will come out on the other side with the Lord's hand still holding on to you! That is always a great visual picture for me. I'm glad you are my blog friend.

Jacki and I are in a bit of a trial but it would seem if I am permitted to say such, that it is not a trial by fire, but maybe a trial by grace. I feel as though God is showing her and I more grace, as always, than we deserve and it is our trial to see if we in turn take it with...grace. Thank you always for your kind words of encouragement. And be encouraged, Be chosen, Be alive, and loved. Be forgiven, Be redeemed. Be broken. Be mended. What a savior! What a King!

Josh I have such confidence in both of you. My heart would lead me to beg God to remove the trial. I will pray for everyone involved.

Your words lifted me up so much and I am so encouraged in knowing how God is working in your lives. My hopes for you both, Adam, Kristi and so many of your contemporaries are so very high.

Pech your comment is so welcome. My resolution is still 1024x768 on both displays but I may take it up a notch or three if I replace my monitors this year. (grin)
