Dispensationalism; Free-Grace Theolgy; and Old School Non-Calvinism

One of the newest collaborative theoblogs is already off to a brilliant start. Some of the blogsphere’s brightest theologians including Matthew, Antonio, Rose, Jodie and Nate will be presenting their perspectives on everything from Soteriology to Eschatology. Are you feeling exegetic? Are your hermeneutics a little lackluster? If so, then unashamed of Grace is the place for you!

Since I do not read these guys on a regular basis, I should not comment here until I've heard my brothers (any sisters?) out.

Very curious titles though. Dispensational and Non-Calvin. Of course they are compatible.

But why the title "Non-Calvin"? Or do i really want to know? Anyway, I know what they are against, but what are they for? (teehee). Must be a bunch of "unelected" trying to plead their case to get into heaven. (heehee) I say don't hate the players (or in this case the "elect") hate the game (or in the case your destiny). LOL

Kc, please explain to all my above comments. I'd rather you do it than me. Hahahahahahaha

Pech what a riot. The "Non-Calivinist" tag actually came out of an honest but light-hearted discussion concerning the opinion of some that all who do not adhere to the 5 points are considered Armenian by default. For others Non-Calvinist is the same as Non-Christian. As for your destiny comments I will let them stand on their own (grin).

KC,
I've been there... is't not a safe place for an Reformed Calvinist, who was a Dispensationalist at one time... I can already tell that if I go there, it will be a fight. But thanks anyway.
Blessings

Titus that is wisdom. It would be similar to me trying to teach election to a Calvinist. We can all study the Bible together but we can't all do theology together. I like to discuss theology with my Calvinist brethren but not if it disrupts our fellowship. Adam and I can argue and fight over these things without spilling one drop of blood or ever offending each other but I know that is rare. We have both informed each other well but neither of us has convinced the other however the understanding I've gained from him has helped in my relationships with my other Calvinist brothers. I hope I've helped him to do likewise.

Seeker,

I should probably take the time to get to know you before I say anything, but hey I'll say it anyway.=) No harm meant by this.

I have no idea if you are a Calvin or Armenian or even a Christian. I have had my run in with them all. As is the case with all "groups" of people, I like some and can't stand others. Sometimes I enjoy being around my "elected" brethren then sometimes I hate being around those "who have accepted Christ as their Saviour."

Seeker, just saying, that isn't it funny how the "elect" are the only ones talking about "election"? I've never heard an unelect admit he was not "in." But how often do I hear the noise of those who are "in". Do they really know they are "elect"? The Pharisees thought they were in but Jesus told them they were sick and did not even know it.

Lest there be any confusion I AM NOT saying my elected brethren are Pharisees!

I just hope if I am not "elected" that I can by FAITH become justified. And if the "elected" ones wake up in hell that they eternally glorify God.

Again I know this is an emotitive topic, and I not out to stir up anything. I am not going to change anyone's mind and don't intend to. I am simply going to try to live in peace with those I disagree with in terms of their theology. If I am a disciple of Jesus, it will only be known by the love I have for the believers, not on how much I agree with them on theology.

I like you Kc. You wanna know why? I was predestined to. I was determined to. And it is all because of God that any bit of love can be found within me for you. Good thing I had very little to do with it. As you are not me, and I love me most of all.

I can say that you have given me an understanding of 'your' position. I don't really know what to classify yourself as. As with me, you can say clearly what school I am from. With you, I only know what schools you are similar to. I think it is one of your points not to be called any one particular thing. Which is good. For you.

For me, you can call me a seven-pointer, a determinist, a freewill believing freechoice hating calvinist. Reformed? YES!

I revel in the lables. Join with me in the basking of their glory, come my brother, do not hesitate. LABEL YOURSELF! Lest I do it for you. [evil grin]

For the record I can vouch for Seeker (Karen) concerning her love for the brethren. She is a prayer and bible study partner and has been both a support and an encouragement as well an inspiration. if all she writes is true she is also one of the most amazing people you'll ever know! ;-)

Pech I know well and know his heart on this so the above was for the benefit of all who read here as I know his thoughts are as well. ;-)

Adam best you be nice for now. There's a review coming up here on the Protestant Pub and I would hate to think it was predestined to be influenced by hard feelings. (hehe)

We are finally in agreement! I love you most of all too! I will also accept your challenge and clearly and openly state my affiliations here thereby removing any and all doubt. From this day forward let it be known that I, Casey M. Carmichael, by my own free will, do hereby acknowledge that I am in association with a group of people who believe that the man Jesus is Christ, the Son of God and that we are known to each other collectively as "believers" and individually as a "believer". Further we are known by various other names ascibed to us by others such as "Christian".

There! You may now openly, and with my full permission classify me as a believer. ;-)

Thanks for clarifying my statements. I am afraid I took a "joke" a little too far. So, I apologize to you and to Seeker for any and all misguided statements.

KC,
BTW, I like the fact that they name their site "Unashamed of Grace" knowing that it was a Calvinist who wrote Amazing Grace... :)

And the prince of preachers was a Calvinist...

Titus it was a non-Calvinist who translated the word Grace from the original Greek (hehe).

On a serious note, to God be the glory. That is one of my favorites, if not my own anthem.
